The Book Club

This is the start of the book club, a place where we can build our personal strengths and share how we feel. I used to spend most of my time reading books and learning new things about anything that interested me. However, I did have a hard time sharing my thoughts and ideas with others, especially since they haven’t read the same book that I have. I used to have much enthusiasm about reading, but it slowly diminished as time went by and less frequent discussions about the books that I love.

We will start with something that inspires me, and I refer back to it each time I need a little pick me up. It’s The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It provided me with great insights about how to change my perspective on how I live my life, and what to do to change it. It’s easy to read, however, don’t let that fool you into thinking that the book is not life changing. It has a certain power that is captivating and encouraging.

So, how will this book club work? I thought it would be best to read a new book every two weeks. Allowing for all members to have the time to purchase the book and sufficient time to read it as well. The first week we can decide on which book to spend our time reading. Then during the second week, we can share our thoughts and opinions in the comment section.

I feel like as people, we can always improve and that is part of the reason why I wanted to start a book club. Being part of a community where I can feel like I belong is my dream come true.
