It’s day seven of the be kind to yourself challenge and it is all about the body that you live in. Take the time to look at your body and notice the wonderful things about it. Pick something out that you can honestly say that you love, and now give thanks. Appreciating your body can be very difficult, especially if it’s been a long battle to appreciate it.
My body has endured a tremendous amount of turmoil, all from my own doing. My body does these amazing things and yet I don’t appreciate any of its accomplishments. My body is fighting to keep me alive, fighting to undo all the harmful things that I have done to it. To stand naked in front of the mirror and tell myself that my body is just as important as my mental health, made me realize something.
The disconnection that I have between the mind and the body, is far in distance that an ocean can fill the space. I’ve begun the process to understand the underlying issues of why that space exists and why I allow for it to. The separation is detrimental to my success, I know that now. But the question is, do you?
