The Be Kind To Yourself Challenge Day Twenty-Five

It’s day twenty-five of the be kind to yourself challenge and today we will be looking at our past selves, then comparing them to our present selves. Instead of comparing who we are now to someone else’s path, we will be comparing to our past. The idea is to better ourselves, by trying to improve on ourselves.

Allowing us to look back at our past, the good and the bad, we can properly assess where we need to grow. As this is the path of personal growth, accepting our past is the first thing we need to do. Often the most difficult part but crucial to success. My past is filled with shame. But by being vulnerable with my past, I can accept it for what it is. Let’s move on together.

And let’s meet at our present. What did I learn about my past? Did I change anything? Have I become stronger? Am I still the same? How do I treat myself? How did I treat myself? I had a thought while tackling today’s task. I thought it would be great for those who are struggling with being kind to themselves. I don’t have friends, so the idea of being compassionate to my ‘friends’ is a difficult concept to grasp. However, I imagine myself as a child. So I ask that child, is what I’m doing worthy of being proud of or being ashamed of? It also extends further than that, by treating that child with compassion.

This allows me to accept how my past has unfolded itself. It also allows me to approach my present and future. The idea is to be a role model to that child, that younger self. I thought it would be great for those who are struggling with being kind to themselves. Hope this helps in some way, and I hope you’re having a wonderful day. I’ll write to you tomorrow.
